Wow! I just had a fabulous Mother’s Day! I got to:
sleep in
awaken to breakfast in bed- breakfast tacos with cilantro!
drink coffee in bed
sleep more- alone, while Travis cared for all the kids
nurse Helen to sleep and then nap with her
have lunch at La Madeleine with the fam
buy lots of cute new t-shirts, because I spilled caesar dressing in a very prominent location on my shirt during said lunch
go to worship and hear the reading of Psalm 103 which is special to me because we read it at Eve’s birth and funeral and so I felt close to my daughter on a day which is especially nice to feel close to your kids on
get lots of hugs from my older 2 kids along with a goodly portion of “Happy Mother’s Days”
talk to my mom and plan out some of their trip here in a few weeks. So exciting!
eat yummy cheese and bread for dinner- simple but good.
That pretty much sums up my day: simple and good.
Happy Mother’s Day! And to all the moms out there who mourn for children who won’t say “Happy Mother’s Day” to you or give you hand made bookmarks I wish you a special kind of peace today. We are mothers to the children who have lived inside of us, no matter if the world knows of them or not.
