Needed some tranquility and a friend suggested a walk through the Novodevichy convent and surrounding park. It was just the thing. Peace encapsulated behind walls. Green in every direction in the adjacent park, pretty bridge to cross, plenty of paths for the children to skip, run, play hide and seek. Saw a few brides today— seems like you could make a tour of bridal portrait spots throughout the city. The convent reflects the continuity of life, of religion, no matter the regime. And then, imagine the children’s delight to spot their duckling friends from Make Way for Ducklings right there, walking in the park with us, or so it seemed!
